Odyssey, a gunpowder painting by Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang was ignited at a Houston warehouse in early October 2010. Odyssey was commissioned by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Cai is best known for creating the opening-ceremony fireworks for the Beijing Olympics. The finished landscape, spanning 42 panels totaling 10 by 162 feet, is permanently installed in the MFAH's new Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Arts of China Gallery.  /  002houston Magazine
